- Past President, American Numismatic Association (ANA), 1999-2001. The largest coin organization in the world, Chartered by the U.S. Congress (1912).
- ANA School of Numismatics awarded H. Robert Campbell a PhD in numismatics on the campus of Colorado College, in Colorado Springs, Colorado in 2016.
- Four years Chairman of the ANA’s Mediation Committee which is responsible for handling ethical complaints involving business transactions between ANA member dealers and the public as well as other concerns within the ANA.
- Many consider him to be one of the top ten professional numismatists in the country.

- Summer Seminar (School of Numismatics) 7 year instructor. “Detection of Artificial Toning on Coins” A scientific themed class on thin film interference and oxidation on metal surfaces. Understanding through the scientific method man made vs. natural toning. What’s real and what isn’t. Certain types of natural toning can increase the value by several hundred percent.

Receiving numerous other awards citing his experience and credibility over the last 42 years he is also cited frequently by national numismatic publications like “Numismatic News,” “Coin World,” “The Numismatist,” etc. Starred in programs on: Discovery Channel, ABC, America’s Most Wanted,(Leading to the capture of a murdered coin dealer- Jordan Allgood,) Five different educational DVD’s produced by “AdVision.” Coin Television. Discovery Road Show host in Association with the National Park Service. He is not just an average coin dealer.
- TAMS symposium speaker at the 1992 ANA National Money Show on Mormon Coins, Currency, Tokens, and Medals. And a caveat on Mark Hoffman Forgeries.
- Has given more than 200 numismatic lectures around the country on a multitude of topics. These presentations have been on: Artificial vs Natural Toning, Artificial Frosting and Re-Proofing of Coins. He is, known in the industry, as the most knowledgeable numismatist on original natural toning.
- Numerous ANA’s “Money Talks” and “Numismatic Theater” presentations over several decades.
- In 2019 he gave a seminar in Poland, for the Polish Numismatic Society, on What type of coins should be certified and graded by third party grading services. NGC provided supplies and materials for the students attending. Also workshops about artificial toning and how to detect it. NGC designated the title of Numismatic Ambassador for them. Student came from around Europe and spoke many languages.
